Ingoma 2016 – Ephphata for Epikaizo Vol. II

Under the shadow of the most high , Onesimus, an extraordinary young gospel musician has clinched the Ingoma Artist of the Year 2016. The name Onesimus means, “helpful” or “profitable”. This Major son has indeed helped a lot of upcoming musicians see that God is real. Onesimus is truly experiencing of the meaning Epikaizo in this season of his life . The artist’s change to gospel music is paying great dividends – with the music industry acknowledging him as the Ingoma Artist of the Year!

The Album Epikaizo Volume II features smooth tunes including “Behold” , the compelling praise-enhancing “Miracle Money” and the heart felt “ Looking for somebody” has seen the ECG celebrity spiral to mountain-top heights of success and fulfilment. Independent National Gospel Music Awards, (INGOMA), founded in RSA 2013 by passionate artistes in the gospel music industry serves as the face and voice for the upward moving and independent gospel music community. It exposes, promotes and celebrates talent through recognition and awards work well done. The annual event honours and acknowledges talent and hard work from upcoming, independent gospel artists.

Speaking to Prophetic Channel, the 27 year old charismatic artist described the award as the beginning of greatness. This award comes a month before the star ties the knot with his long time Lisa Mlanduli, whose career spans a lifetime of a love relationship with music and for the last few years, with God.

Speaking of inspiration, Onesimus remarked : “I am inspired by a lot of ministers in music but above all is Major 1, the man who helped me unlock the gift that God has deposited in me. I would like to acknowledge him as my spiritual father, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, for the immense support and foundation he laid. I honor his God because through Him all things are possible. I praise God for my producer Dj Megi for the effort and sleepless nights making sure that the album was a success. To my family at Major 1 Records I say; ‘Ephphata’, the heavens have opened.
